Leading sustainable design
Setting new paradigms for residential design with cutting-edge environmental strategies while honouring iconic, formalist architecture principles of Vancouver’s rich past.
Our proposal for 1468 Alberni pioneers new standards for zero-emission high rise development across the globe by employing the rigorous environmental, ecological and energy-efficient standards of Passive House buildings. The two residential towers are designed in honour of the great Formalist buildings throughout Vancouver’s rich architectural history.

Location
The proposed site is located in the 1400 block of Alberni and Nicola Street in Vancouver’s thriving urban community in the West End. This amenity-rich neighbourhood in downtown Vancouver is within walking distance to Coal Harbour, Stanley Park and is surrounded by bicycle routes, shops, restaurants and other services.
Architecture
The proposed design incorporates historical masonry, exceptional sculptural details and iconic crowns over the two building towers (43 and 48 storeys). As a Passive House, the building will be the world’s biggest and tallest ultra-low energy building that requires little energy for space heating or cooling. Its unique, yet subtle design will integrate well in the West End neighbourhood.
Amenities
1468 Alberni will provide 580 new homes to the urban neighbourhood. It will also honour the area’s high percentage of families and children by incorporating family-oriented homes, a 10,000 square foot childcare facility, outdoor space on-site and a new park on Nicola Street.
